Dr. Krishna Amin is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Dental Medicine Degree through a 7-year accelerated program at Stevens Institute of Technology and Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Thereafter, she completed a 2-year specialty training program in Pediatric Dentistry at NYU Langone Hospitals Center in Brooklyn, NY, where she served as chief resident. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Krishna Amin has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of pediatric dentistry providing the highest quality of care to her patients. Dr. Krishna Amin treats every patient as she would her own family, ensuring that each child is comfortable and leaves with a smile on their face. As a mother to a young child herself, Dr. Krishna Amin values the importance of compassion when treating pediatric patients and tailors her treatment approach to meet the specific needs and concerns of each patient.
In her spare time, Dr. Krishna Amin enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She is a native of New Jersey, currently residing locally with her husband and daughter.
Dr. Vrinda Tarneja is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist who completed her Pediatric Dentistry training at Boston Children’s Hospital at Harvard University. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from the University at Buffalo. She subsequently earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine where she received the Pediatric and Community Dentistry Award on graduation. Dr. T continued to work at a pediatric dental office in Boston for two years post residency and made the move to New Jersey after her wedding!
Dr. Tarneja has a demonstrated passion for working with kids, from tutoring middle-school students to volunteering with organizations including Give Kids a Smile Day and Special Olympics. She is an active member of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She believes in educating parents and kids in oral health care to aid in implementing changes at home. She understands each kid is unique and benefits from specialized care and attention.
Dr. Tarneja loves to travel, dance, spend time with her family and try new restaurants in her free time. She is excited to serve and connect with the Sparkles community!
Dr. Doug Henick received his Bachelor of Science, BS degree from George Washington University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Doug Henick received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry, DMD degree and completed his specialty training in Orthodontics at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. While there, Dr. Doug received his Masters of Science degree and published his thesis on the effectiveness or of Invisalign® on deep bite correction in adults. He is a certified Invisalign® provider. Dr. Doug is also proud to be a faculty member of the Englewood Hospital GPR program.
Dr. Doug joins us with years of orthodontic experience and a commitment to upholding the high standards of patient care. With his proficiency in a wide range of orthodontic techniques, including traditional braces, Invisalign, and other advanced modalities, Dr. Doug is well-equipped to provide comprehensive and tailored treatment plans for each individual patient. His patient-centric approach, coupled with his dedication to fostering positive patient experiences, aligns with the values of our practice.
Dr. Natasha Mathias received a DMD degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, after she graduated from dental school in India. She has a specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry from the New Jersey Dental School, UMDNJ. Dr. Mathias received extensive training in hospital dentistry, anesthesia, sedation, child growth and development, orthodontics, and treatment of children with special needs. She believes in nurturing children into great patients as adults and every child leaves her chair with a smile. She is widely traveled and takes much interest in activities in the Montclair community. She is involved in the health and wellness initiative, as well as Montclair Board of Education in various public outreach efforts. She mentors young adults who express interest in pursuing careers in healthcare, especially dentistry and other fields in healthcare.
Dr. Bansari Shah grew up in Livingston, NJ and attended Cornell University majoring in Biomedical Engineering Technology. She completed a dual-degree program at Columbia University in 2010 with a doctorate in dental medicine and a masters in education. She went on to complete a three-year orthodontic specialty training program at New York University. She is a seasoned practitioner with a decade of experience under her belt and has seen patients with all types of orthodontic concerns - from minor crowding and early childhood treatment to complex surgical issues. She is a devoted mom of two young girls and has also spent time teaching at orthodontic programs in NJ. She’s a champion of environmental preservation and has even published a book in the field of education.
Dr. Barnes is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry and the University of Health Sciences, Antigua School of Medicine. He completed his dental residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and his anesthesia residency at Brookdale Medical Center, also in Brooklyn, New York. In 1993 Dr. Barnes started Paramount Ambulatory Anesthesia, a provider of office based ambulatory anesthesia for the pediatric dental patient. In his spare time, Dr. Barnes enjoys traveling and, as an avid General Aviation pilot, volunteers with the Patient Air Lift Services organization.
Maureen Harper brings over 3 decades of experience and training to her role as an ASHA Board Certified Speech Language Pathologist. She is licensed in the states of New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Delaware. Her training and work have spanned internationally and a variety of settings including clinics, an orphanage, a rehabilitation hospital, elementary, middle and high schools, home based environments and private practices. She has extensive experience and expertise in the assessment and treatment of people across the life span with a wide array of oral function disorders manifested as difficulties with chewing, swallowing, feeding/food aversions/picky eating; oromyofunctionaldisorders including resting tongue position, mouth breathing, open mouth posture; TMJ dysfunction,restricted tethered oral tissues; speech; auditory and language processing; fluency; executive function; voice; neurosensory reflexes, cranial nerves, Paradoxical Vocal Cord Movement (PVFM) , and breathing to support airway health.
Ashley Rich has been at Sparkles since 2008. She joined as an assistant and soon after became a dental hygienist. She grew up in Clifton,NJ and always wanted to get into the dental field. She absolutely loves working with kids, they make her job very entertaining and fun! She says she never feels like she is actually “Working” when she comes to Sparkles, because she really loves what she does. She is a self professed foodie and loves spending time with family
Jennifer Zamora is our Registered dental assistant. She began her journey in dentistry right after graduating high school. She graduated as a DA from Fortis Institute. Her patience, care, and love for working with kids has kept her in the pediatric field. She loves taking Xrays, spending time outdoors, and traveling with family.
Carol is a native of Colombia and moved to the USA when she was 18. She lives in Clifton with her lovely family: her fiancé Ivan, her sons Samuel and Esteban and 2 dogs Toby and Luigy. She loves to travel and enjoys outdoor activities with family and friends. Carol has been in the dental field since 2006 and earned her RDA in 2013. She loves working with children of all ages and seeing the smile transformations from orthodontic treatment.
